Funds collected from the sales of the "PROTECT WILD DOLPHINS" license plate are
available to support dolphin research and education programs that involve the
study and preservation of wild dolphin populations in Florida waters. Research
projects may involve collection, analysis and archival of scientific data regarding
the wild dolphin. Projects can also serve to provide care and assistance to
stranded wild dolphin; to distribute information to the scientific community,
federal, state and local governmental agencies, educational institutions and the
public; to identify wild dolphin through photographic documentation; and to advance
the technology associated with tracking and monitoring.
